Hosiery
Hosiery comes from English word hose that in itself can be traced back to an
even older English word Hosa meaning leg covering.
A person dealing in hose would be a hosier therefore that is where we get
hosiery from.
In modern times it is a hosiery includes in it's collection footwear,

pantyhose, hold-ups, knee highs,

Pantyhose is the US name given to the same item that the British call tights.
